Turel Sut was born in Izmir, Turkey on one of those hot Turkish summer days in 1972. His family discovered his ability and interest in painting and they sent him to drawing and painting courses from the age of five. At seven his paintings were displayed on a children’s program called Gokkusagi (Rainbow) on Turkish national TV channel TRT. With the great support of his teacher Mrs Fusun, his paintings won trophies when he was in primary school from the age of seven to twelve.
At the age of eighteen he successfully entered Dokuz Eylul University in Turkey and studied fine art. While he was still studying, he worked along side his professor Zeki Karcioglus in his fresco studio as a professional artist. During long summer Turkish holidays at university, he travelled round Europe and found himself some more commission work. After university he moved to England and started taking on commission. For two years he consolidated his knowledge, living and working with different subjects and is now actively working in his workshop on panel frescos with his team in Hastings, East Sussex, UK.

As well as developing his own formal expression, Turel has worked on commissions from the public, corporate and private sectors for about a decade. He has the ability to blend the exacting requirements of clients without compromising the high standards of a professional painter, and his curiosity as a fresco artist has led him to execute a variety of projects, working with panel frescos.
His other interests and hobbies include photography, watching wildlife and visiting the countryside, but frescos have always formed an important part of his life.
